But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
We used to have a tree in the backyard. The kids all thought it was a lemon tree. They thought it was a lemon tree because it was only four feet high and it had very sour fruit. But it was an orange tree. The trouble was, where it sat in the yard, it never got any water. No matter how hard that little orange tree tried, it could never produce sweet fruit on its own. Every good gardener knows the trick to sweet fruit is lots of water.
We will never be able to manifest love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self-control on our own. We have to abide, or spend time, with Jesus who is "the water of life." And every good Christian knows the trick to good fruit is lots of water.
Spend some time with Jesus today,
