Romans 12:12

Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.
Romans 12:12

What is the opposite of these three actions above? Despair in hopelessness, freak out when things are hard, and to stop praying and looking towards God for all things? When you look at it from this angle, which description likely resembles the actions you regularly take?

If it's the latter, let me remind you that Paul is not asking believers to do something that is impossible. It seems impossible because in our own strength it is, but because of what Jesus has done for us, detailed in the first 11 chapters of Romans, you'll understand that everything Paul commands us to do in 12:12 is an option we have readily available to us because of the completed work of Christ. I say option because we have to make the choice on which path we go down. We can choose despair, frustration, and hopelessness, or we can choose to do what Paul commands because God is for us and not against us. This gift of God makes it possible to always rejoice in the hope that we have in Christ, to rest in difficult times because we know there is a purpose behind them, and pray all the time knowing our God is listening and is answering in one way or another.
