Leviticus 19:2

Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.’
Leviticus 19:2

When we hear the word "holy", no doubt we think of goodness. The kind of person that is so good that we picture him with a halo around his head. Yet when God is speaking here to the people of Israel, He’s telling them to set themselves apart from the world, for He has.

How do we set ourselves apart from the ways of the world? We first have to realize God's ways, as given in the Bible, are right. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, "'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,' says the LORD. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.'"

When our actions as Christians are different from the non-Christian’s actions, it draws people to Jesus. They want to meet the Savior who can change us from the inside out.

Set apart,

Pastor Ron Kitchell
