Psalm 75:7

But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.
Psalm 75:7

Asaph, who wrote Psalm 75, is an interesting character. His songs mainly revolve around the same theme – the wicked prospering. Many times his Psalms start with him complaining about the evil people of the world doing so well, followed by him realizing that God is in charge of all things.

How many times do we do the same thing? We look at our circumstances and wonder why non-believers seem to live the good life and the lives of Christians aren't going so well. We need to see what Asaph sees here, that God is the judge and determines the fate of all men. If you're saved, then the ultimate judging will be glorious. God will exalt you. If you're not saved, then no matter how well things go for you in this life, God's final judgment will not be pleasant.

If you get caught in that pattern, don't stress, Asaph took a long time to understand God's ways. The next time the world seems unfair, break out the Bible and pray to the God who is the Judge. He sets us all straight.

Looking for God’s hand in my life,

Pastor Ron Kitchell
