Psalm 4:8

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:8

I've always found it hard to sleep, or at least stay asleep, when there are some very pressing or severe matters taking place in my life. I'll usually wake up in the middle of the night thinking about the problem that is before me, trying to figure it all out to the best of my ability. But as it comes time to get up, all I've really accomplished was to stress myself out more.

Just like the Psalmist David, we serve and know a God that allows us to dwell in safety. He's got our backs 24/7 and allows all the situations and circumstances in our lives to happen so that we are constantly looking to Him for everything. Because God is bigger than our problems, our enemies, and our trials, we can rest with great peace. Jesus tells us, "My yoke is easy, and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:30).

The weight of the world is not on your shoulders, it's on His shoulders, and He's the only one strong enough to hold it up. So get some peaceful sleep tonight knowing that God's got this!
