Proverbs 16:3

Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.
Proverbs 16:3

One of the blessings of the book of Proverbs is its focus on the day-by-day activities of life. This verse here would tell us to commit our works, our daily activities, to the LORD. To commit our works, we have to trust in God and know that He's going to do more with them than we would.

In committing our works to the LORD, we will then have our thoughts established in Him. So as you go to your job every day, do all things during your workday for God and you'll naturally have your thought-life geared towards the LORD.

When Abraham and his nephew, Lot, were traveling together, there came a time when the flocks of the two men were too much and they'd have to separate. So Abraham, committing his works to the LORD, gave Lot the choice of where he wanted to go. Abraham had great trust in God that if he gave this choice over to the LORD, it would be the right choice, no matter what his nephew chose. Lot, on the other hand, chose his land from the flesh and ended up heading towards Sodom and Gomorrah.

Have you committed your works and your life to the LORD? Do so today and you’ll notice your thought-life is focused more on God than on the things of the world.

Giving it to the LORD,

Pastor Ron Kitchell
