Ephesians 5:15,16

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15,16

There were two ancient Greek words for time. One was a simple expression of a day or an hour. The other, used here, is a phrase "at the time" that meant a defined portion of time, a time where something should happen. Paul is not simply saying to make the most of each moment. We must redeem the time. Just like a smart businessman, we need to look for and take advantage of every opportunity for Jesus. From the moment you became saved until you are taken up to meet the Lord is "the time." The enemy would like you to fret it away on foolish things that won't last. But we must redeem it, buy it back, and then use it for God's glory.

Pray, ask the Lord to show you how to redeem the rest of today. Ask Him to fill your day with the opportunity to serve Him. For the days we live in are evil.

Redeeming today,
