John 3:18

He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:18

Just two verses down from the most popular verse in the Bible, the above verse talks of the condemnation of those who don't believe in Jesus Christ. The gospel message is always to be understood in two parts, the good news and the bad news. It's popular and trendy these days to just share the good news without addressing the bad news. But honestly, without the bad news, the good news doesn't quite give us a clear picture of the state we are truly in and the very serious need we have for a Savior.

We live in a world where we base our own righteousness off of the comparison we make with others. So it's usually pretty easy to find somebody worse than you and feel justified in your own eyes. But when we look at the full gospel message, we realize that we are far from justified if looking to our own righteousness. The reality is this: without Jesus, you don't make it to God. And because God loves us, He sent His Son to reach out to us through His death. If we don't take His hand in return, then we don't just simply miss out on heaven, we pay for this great mistake for all eternity.

Jesus is not just an option; He's our only hope!
