Psalm 119:93

I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life.
Psalm 119:93

As a child, we hate rules because we always feel like they are against us having fun. From a child's perspective, that is very true. They can't stay up late or eat candy before dinner. A ball rolled into the street and I went to get it but my parents got mad at me. I can't jam a fork into a light socket. We read these and know the obvious consequences for each, but as a child, we had no clue and needed our parents to take care of us.

The psalmist here is saying I will never forget your rules because through them you have given me life. They have kept me safe! They have helped me find joy! While it may not be the most fun thing to do, I challenge you today to see what you may be doing that is hindering you from that fullness of life the Lord offers. While some things scripture says may be hard to swallow, it is harder to kick against the Lord.

Resting in Him,
