Psalm 127:1

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1

We can do many things for the Lord and even think that what we are doing is for Him. We can go out and do our best to start ministries, but unless the Lord builds the house, all of our work and efforts are really for nothing. The Lord has to be the one that builds the house.

I like the story in Exodus where the Lord commanded Moses to build a tabernacle. My guess is that Moses had no clue how to do it. But the Lord was involved with the entire process. He calls by name who will build it: a man from the tribe of Judah, the son of Uri, named Bezalel. God even fills him with His Spirit to complete what He had set Moses out to do.

Let's take time to sit back and ask the Lord what He would want from us. If He is not building the house, then we are just spinning our wheels trying to get stuff done for nothing.
