1 Peter 1:15-16

But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy for I am holy."
1 Peter 1:15-16

"God wants us to be happy therefore, we should do what makes us happy." I have heard that many times. But I think they have the wrong "H" word there. The word they are looking for is "holy" and should read "God wants us to be holy therefore, we should do what makes us holy."

Peter gives us some instructions on how we should live our lives before the Father. He says gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully on the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:13). Our conduct should not be like the world but should be like the one who called us. He who called us is holy therefore, as obedient children, we should be holy in all that we say and do.

Seeking holiness for He is holy.
