2 Chronicles 32:20

Now because of this King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, prayed and cried out to heaven.
2 Chronicles 32:20

Hezekiah is facing the Assyrian army which was the greatest army of its time. Not only was he facing a far greater army but the king of Assyria was taunting God. Notice Hezekiah and Isaiah's response: prayer. Prayer should always be our first response, yet so often it is the last resort. We often treat prayer like a 911 call where we let God know about our emergency. Prayer is not made so that God might know what we need. Prayer is so that we trust in God and we learn to trust in Him more. The Bible tells us that we are to pray with faith in trusting God. The highest purpose of prayer is His will be done, not ours. As we pray, we find our hearts come in line with His heart and we become in tune with His will. Let us be a people who pray first and do second. Line up your will with His.

For the King,

Daniel Batistelli
