Galatians 6:10

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10

I'm sure you have noticed for yourselves that we live in a very self-serving culture. Before all other questions we ask ourselves when making decisions, our first question is usually, "How will this affect me?" The answer to this very question will usually stir us in the direction that will provide us the most beneficial outcome to ourselves.

Paul, in his letter to the churches in Galatia, challenges us to start with the question, "How will this affect others?" How can we do good to people, unbelievers, and even more so, believers, as opportunities present themselves?

Doing good to others before ourselves usually comes to us initially as a sacrifice. But, the verse prior to Galatians 6:10 says "Do not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Meaning, even in our initial sacrifice to do good, there will be rewards in one form or another because God doesn't just ask us to bless others, He displays it for us first.
