Job 23:10

But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
Job 23:10

Earlier in this chapter, Job, having been put through more trials than anyone could imagine, was ready to state his case, present his arguments, and let God give the verdict. But how does a mere man go about finding God? We know He's everywhere, but Job wanted a personal meeting. Then suddenly Job has a spiritual breakthrough! "Whether I can find Him or not, He knows where I am, and His testing will purify me." What an admirable and healthy perspective. And yet what Job discovered is vital to our own spiritual well-being.

In God's foundry, the heat gets turned up and the dross is scrapped off the top until the founder can see his own reflection in the gold. God allows trials in our lives to polish His own image into us, so we can reflect His goodness and His love.

The gold should not fear the fire,
