Luke 2:40

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.
Luke 2:40

There isn't a lot in the Bible about Jesus between the time of His birth, which we celebrate today, and when He turned 30 years old. There is a story right after the above verse about Jesus having a discussion with the temple teachers when He was 12. It's important to remember Jesus had to learn as we do, through being taught by others and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus took on the guise of man to be that ultimate sacrifice for us. But He also did it to be our example. If Jesus had to grow in the ways of God, how much more do we? So we need to take time and read His word and pray to the Father so that we, too, can grow in the Lord.

Sometimes people tend to think they've reached the ultimate place with God and they've achieved all they can. But that's not true. Every day, we should be learning more about Jesus than the day before. Jesus said to pray for our daily bread, not our weekly, monthly, or yearly bread. So open your Word today and you'll be amazed at your growth.

Merry Christmas from Morningstar!
