Romans 8:18

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Romans 8:18

Paul, while writing this to the Roman church, had undergone some pretty intense forms of suffering while on his missionary journeys. Today in America, the sufferings we incur for our faith are nothing compared to what Paul had faced while writing this letter. The point of this is not the degree of suffering. It is, rather, helping us look past whatever suffering we are going through to what lies ahead.

Maybe today you are suffering to some degree as you follow the Lord. Paul's encouragement is to look up and look past what is happening because what lies ahead is so much greater than anything that can happen here. If you're in the thick of it, remember, what lies ahead for us is an eternity of peace, joy, and perfect love in the Father.

Blessings,

Pastor Sean Boehm
