Psalm 5:11

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.
Psalm 5:11

If you were to rate the joy in your life on a scale, what would it register from 1-10? The psalmist here encourages us to rejoice, a word that means to brighten or to cheer up, because we have put our trust in the Lord. There is nothing like resting in His care, walking in His ways, and knowing He leads us in the paths of life. The psalmist continues telling us we can "shout for joy" or sing at the top of our lungs because God will defend or protect those who walk with Him. Finally, he says that those who "love His name" should be joyful: this time he means to jump for joy! Seems to me, walking and trusting in God makes for a very joyful existence, one that everyone should notice!

Jumping for joy today,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
