Job 42:10

And the LORD restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Job 42:10

This is the great climax of the book of Job in that after Job had suffered and endured the onslaught of his supposed friends, God restored to Job what he had lost. But let's not miss the condition in the verse. This restoration came after Job prayed for his friends. His prayer was a proclamation of forgiveness. By forgiving his friends and praying for them, Job got back the blessings in his own life.

We only hurt ourselves when we refuse to forgive others and God may well hold back blessings in our lives until we do. Is there someone you need to forgive today?

Keeping short accounts,

Pastor Gerard Deleeuw
