Revelation 21:4

"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
Revelation 21:4

There is a promise in the above verse that once we get to Heaven, those things that drag us down – sadness and pain – will be no more. The problem with our life nowadays is we try to deaden ourselves to sorrow and pain. Sometimes it's done in ways that are harmful to us like drinking and drugs, or maybe it's just that we try to keep ourselves constantly entertained by watching TV or movies and get our minds off the problems of the world.

For the same reason, we try to avoid ministry. We know there is sadness and pain involved. People don't want to serve because it can be difficult. If you minister in the convalescent homes, you're setting yourself up for sadness because some of the people you minister to are going to pass away.

We should know there will a time of rejoicing, with no tears and no pain, but it's not going to be while we're here. So occupy, stay busy, until Jesus returns and look forward to your time with Him in heaven.

Occupying till He comes,

Pastor Ron Kitchell
