Jack Abeelen started a small home Bible study in Whittier, California in October 1984. Through the Lord’s faithfulness the home study quickly outgrew its home location and on April 21, 1985 Morningstar Christian Chapel had its first service at Leffingwell Elementary School in Whittier, California. Jack Abeelen has been the Senior Pastor of Morningstar Christian Chapel since its inception in April 1985. The church continued to grow and in June 1988 moved to its current location in Whittier, California. His calling as a pastor-teacher is evidenced by the refreshing, easily grasped style he uses in communicating the Word of God. The priority of Jack's ministry is committed to expository teaching, verse by verse receiving the full counsel of God's Word. His approach is both relevant and down to earth and he strongly believes that the Bible is applicable and vital to life today. He is firmly convinced that God honors His Word, that it never goes out void, that it will accomplish in our lives all that God desires, and will be profitable in equipping the saints for every good work.
