Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

What’s hindering you from fully resting your hope on Jesus today?

Girding loins was the practice of tying up a tunic to bring in all the slack. This would make it easier to move around and do physical activity.

Peter says we need to gird up the loins of our minds. We need to take up the slack and reign in the loose thoughts that distract us. That way we can be free to focus on Jesus. 

Life is distracting, but we cannot afford to forget about what is waiting for us at the end of our time here. 

Today, let’s set some time aside to focus fully on God and our eternity with Him.
