1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:9

When I read verses like this I am blown away. I think, “Wow, those are such powerful and mighty words!” The first time I heard those words preached I felt actually royal. Those of us who have placed their faith in Christ and have become sons and daughters of the one true King should feel that sense of royalty as well. For they are not just words, they are proclamations from the King of kings to us who are called children of God.

They are a call to honor and a call to action. In the same way we understand the hierarchy or royalty involved in a kingdom on earth, we are to feel blessed that we can be part of God’s royal family. His words are law, they are truth, and they are powerful weapons that can be wielded with authority for His glory for all the lost to hear. Once, we too, walked in darkness, but now God has proclaimed us His own royal priesthood and we are to take that with great encouragement and glorify His name. Will you take your rightful part in God’s kingdom today? All authority in Heaven and earth is at your disposal to use for God’s will in your life. Don’t back down now, God is control. After all, He is the king!
