1 Peter 3:7
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
1 Peter 3:7
Genesis 1:27 tells us that every person bears the image of God, yet we often fail to treat each other with the honor this truth demands. Peter’s instruction to husbands reminds us of the equal worth and dignity of all people in God’s eyes. A man’s fellowship with God is closely related to his fellowship with his wife, and you cannot be in unity with God if you’re not in unity with your wife.
Gentlemen, we’re to dwell with our wives, not to put up with them. We’re called to abide and sojourn with them in every season of life. Think about how you view and treat those around you, especially those you might consider “weaker” or different from yourself. Make a commitment today to actively demonstrate honor and respect to others, recognizing them as fellow heirs of God’s grace?
