1 Peter 5:10-11

1 Peter 5:10-11

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. o Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:10-11

There is no doubt that we are living in some crazy times, but God knows what He is doing and has a plan. And that’s the reason why we can stand in all the craziness around us because we belong to “The God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus.” The world is against us, suffering is all around, the enemy is lurking about, but we belong to “The God of all grace and glory.”

Peter reminds us that the suffering we go through is for a short while, and it will produce great fruit in our lives. Peter lists for us the things that will come from this brief time of suffering: we will be “perfected” or complete, “established” standing firm and unmovable, “strengthened” not speaking of physical strength but of the soul, and “settled” it means grounded with a foundation set in stone.

And Peter can’t help but throw a big “Amen!” at the end of that, “To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Because the only way this is possible is by the grace of God.
