1 Peter 5:10-11

1 Peter 5:10-11

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:10-11

Suffering is an inevitable part of the Christian life, but it’s not without purpose. Peter reminds us of that in the verses above. This promise offers hope and perspective in our trials. We are being sovereignly developed by our Heavenly Father and in terms of eternity our suffering is relatively brief. God wastes no suffering. Especially if your suffering is the result of your own obedience.

Is there any suffering you’re currently experiencing? How might God be using this to perfect, establish, strengthen, or settle you? Trust that God is working even in your pain, shaping you more into the image of Christ. Let this truth fuel your hope and endurance. Pray for God’s grace to sustain you and for eyes to see His hand at work in all your circumstances.
