Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.“

I always marvel at the story of David and Goliath. The thing that challenges me the most is David’s faith. He stepped out on the battlefield by faith, trusting in the Lord.

We will all have Goliaths standing in front us at some point in our lives. How will we respond? We can put on the best armor and equipment the world has to offer, like Saul suggested. We can do nothing, like the rest of the army of Israel did. Or we can step forward in faith like David did. 

David’s faith is such an encouraging example to us as we face the Goliaths in our lives by faith, trusting that God will protect us and use us.
