1 Thessalonians 1:9-10
For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 1:9-10
The New Testament writers lived with urgent expectancy, eagerly awaiting Christ’s return. This wasn’t escapism—it was hope anchored in love for Jesus. When we truly grasp that we’re living in the “last hour,” our priorities shift dramatically. The blessed hope of Christ’s appearing should transform how we spend our time, invest our resources, and love others.
Ask yourself: Am I living as though Jesus could return today? Does my heart long more for His presence than for earthly comfort? Let expectancy fuel your worship, deepen your prayer life, and intensify your passion for lost souls. The bridegroom is coming—keep your lamp burning bright.
