2 Peter 1:12-13
For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you.
2 Peter 1:12-13
Peter wrote this epistle knowing he was close to his death. Knowing that, he was sure to remind his readers of everything he had taught them. His biggest fear was that they would grow complacent in their faith.
Complacency is a silent killer. We can’t reach a certain point in our walks with the Lord and then stop. We have to keep moving. In fact, if we grow stagnant, we will actually be moving backward. We must keep moving and keep growing.
And the cure for complacency is to be reminded. We need to constantly remind ourselves of all that God has done for us, why we believe in Jesus, what we have been saved from, and what we have been saved for.
Reminded,
Pastor David Reeves
