2 Peter 1:16, 19
For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty… And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts
2 Peter 1:16, 19
Peter’s passionate reminder of the power and reliability of God’s Word challenges us to examine our own relationship with Scripture. Is it just a book or is it the living, inspired Word of God? Just as Peter was “eyewitness to His majesty,” we too can experience the transformative power of God’s Word in our lives.
So, the real question is, how do we approach the Bible? Do we trust that it can speak truth into our very soul? Do we see it as a light shining in darkness, guiding our path? As you read it, look for Jesus, because His Word is meant to be a daily reminder of the person of Christ. How can you make God’s Word a more central part of your daily life? By allowing it to shape your thoughts, decisions, and actions.
