2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
People often think God lays out rules just to keep people from knowing Him. This verse teaches the opposite, that it’s not God’s will that any should perish but all would turn to Him in repentance.
Whenever we talk to someone about salvation and feel like it’s never going to succeed, we just need to remember God’s Heart. His love for us is demonstrated in Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins. We don’t pay for our own sins; Christ received them upon Himself despite committing none of His own.
If you’re wondering why it takes so long for your family and friends to be saved, it’s because God is so patient. He’s not slack, He’s not lazy, He’s working on the hearts of the unsaved daily. Do you know someone who needs to receive the Lord? Pray and trust in God’s promise.
Praying for the unsaved,
