2 Thessalonians 1:9-10

2 Thessalonians 1:9-10

These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.

2 Thessalonians 1:9-10

It’s my guess the above verses are not on your refrigerator or on a plaque hanging proudly in your living room. They are verses of judgment that would be used for a fire-and-brimstone sermon. People often accuse Christians of speaking too much about hell to others, but the Bible is clear it’s a real place with, as the above verse says, everlasting consequences.

Matthew 7:1 says Judge not lest ye be judged and we can tell here from 1 Thessalonians, it’s God Himself that will be the judge and it will happen when Jesus returns.

It’s tough to talk to family and friends about the consequences of not accepting Jesus as their Savior, but this verse is a reminder the judgment is real and the consequences are eternal. If you don’t tell them, who will?

Thankful for His salvation,

Pastor Ron Kitchell
