2 Thessalonians 3:3-4

2 Thessalonians 3:3-4

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you.

2 Thessalonians 3:3-4

Paul concludes his letter to the Thessalonians by asking for prayer for himself and those who were with him as they shared the gospel. He asked that God would be glorified in them and also prayed for deliverance and protection from “unreasonable and wicked men,” men without faith who would be there to oppose them.

And as we see here in v. 3 and 4, Paul is also confident that the Lord will be with the believers in Thessalonica as well, to establish and guard them against the evil one and help them to do the will of God. How we need that same confidence today as well, as we seek to glorify God knowing that there will be those who oppose us.

Should we share our faith? Of course. Are there going to be obstacles? No doubt. Do we, at times, have to contend with unreasonable and wicked people? Sure we do. So, do we need to pray for one another? Most definitely!

We are in a battle, but we do not fight against flesh and blood; it’s a spiritual battle that we are engaged in, so the weapons that we use must be spiritual as well. So pray for your brothers and sisters in the Lord and God will be glorified in us.
