2 Timothy 1:12
For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
2 Timothy 1:12
A young challenger in a boxing match was asked how he defeated a well-known and respected champion. He replied, “I just kept getting up for one more round.”
With this same attitude, Paul encourages his son in the faith, Timothy, to continue to move forward and serve the Lord. Despite heartaches, insults, poverty, and setbacks, Paul never gave up. Paul was convinced that his life had a greater purpose than being well-liked, financially secure, or always having things his way. He was willing to get up day after day and suffer hardships, knowing that they gave him opportunities to show others the love of Christ.
Living your life for Christ isn’t always easy. You won’t always be liked, and there will be a price to pay and trials to endure. Just get up round after round, day after day. “Persuaded that Jesus is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.”
