2 Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 15:4
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 15:4
These verses are good encouragements and reminders for us when we face hardships. Peter wrote, in his second epistle, to believers facing blatant persecution, reminding them of the sure foundation of God’s Word. In the above verses we’re reminded that Scripture is God-breathed, useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. In times of trial, it provides endurance and encouragement. In short, it can address every aspect of life.
Have there been times when God’s Word sustained you through difficulty? Do you realize how important is it to make Scripture a more central part of your life, especially in preparing for future challenges? Try memorizing a verse or two that brings you particular comfort or strength and watch the Lord use what you know to get you through what you’re facing.
