Psalm 65:4

Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple.

One of the most difficult times in my life was when our church was shut down for Covid. It didn’t last very long, but I was miserable, missing my church family and the fellowship. I missed the goodness of God’s house and the kindness of God’s people.

Some people say they don’t have to go to church to be Christians and that’s biblically true. However, they’re missing out on the great benefits of being around God’s people. It’s hard for me to stay down when I have Christian brothers and sisters pulling me aside and praying for me. It’s easier to walk uprightly when I know my church family is checking how I’m doing. Even though my wife and I had just a mild case of Covid, I still had numerous people wanting to bring meals to us. Is it any wonder I missed the brethren so much?

If there’s something keeping you away from church, come back and see the goodness of God displayed through His people.
