James 1:19-20
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
James 1:19-20
Here James gives us some words of wisdom of how we are to conduct ourselves when trials and difficult situations come our way — be swift to hear and slow to speak. I don’t know about you, but when I go through difficulties and trials in this in this life, I do these things, I do! The only thing is, I usually do them backwards! I am often swift to speak and slow to hear. That’s not a good thing.
The next time a trial or difficulty comes your way, let’s remember these words that James writes to you and to me. Be swift to hear, listen to what the other person is saying. Slow to speak, think about how Jesus would respond and maybe say a prayer first!
