Ecclesiastes 1:11

Ecclesiastes 1:11

There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of later things yet to be among those who come after.

Ecclesiastes 1:11

Most of us are fortunate enough to have known our grandparents, and some of us may have even known our great-grandparents, but in all likelihood we do not know beyond that in terms of our ancestry. Likewise, unless we become a key historic figure, we will be forgotten in just a few generations should the Lord tarry. Even if we live a remarkable life, we will be forgotten as readily as the average person (Ecclesiastes 2:16).

However, in the realm of eternity we live forever.  God knew us before we were born, and He desires that we spend eternity with Him.  His desire for eternal fellowship with us is so strong that He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.  Those who accept Jesus as their Savior while on earth will be forgotten after this life, but they are remembered for all eternity by the true and living God.  God knew us before we were born, and for those that have become children of God (John 1:12-13), He welcomes us into His presence when we die. Praise God for His eternal blessings and praise God that He will never forget us.
