2 Corinthians 5:9

2 Corinthians 5:9

Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.

2 Corinthians 5:9

There is certainly something to be said for focus, priority, and determination of purpose and the truth is, few people seem to be driven by it. They don’t have a goal that fills their thoughts, guides their steps, and determines their behavior. A conviction that is steadfast and affects their decision making from day to day is also lacking. However, the author of this book, Paul, was such a man.

Our verse this morning clearly defines his outlook and dedication to one thing: he would live today and every day simply to “please the Lord.” In fact the Greek word for “pleasing” suggests well-pleasing or completely pleasing! Today, why not keep this verse in mind as you go about your daily life. How could you be more “pleasing” to our God? I suspect it will change the things you do, the places you go, what you say, and how you say them.

Seeking to please Him all day,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
