Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
If anyone went to Sunday school from 1915 to present day, you probably heard the song, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so…” Even if you heard it only once, you probably have the words memorized. We teach our children that God’s love is true because His word tells us that it is. And as children we believed it. So why are there so many stories these days about Christians falling away from the church and deconstructing their religious beliefs? What makes what used to be truth suddenly not true?
As Christians, we know that God does not lie because He is incapable of it. Therefore, if God cannot lie, then who does? Unfortunately, it’s His most precious creation, us. The gospel has been challenged for centuries by man and has never lost a battle. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever and the argument needs to end there. If our children, who we love dearly and would never lie to, believe us, then we as children of God need to believe with all our being that His word is true, perfect, and unchanging. How many people would give up their lives for people who hate them? Only Jesus did that. Why? Because the Bible tells me so.
