Luke 5:31-32

Luke 5:31-32

Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Luke 5:31-32

Jesus was having a feast at Matthew the tax collector’s house and the scribes and Pharisees weren’t happy about it. They said to Him, “Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Didn’t Jesus know who Matthew was, how hated tax collectors were in that day?

I love Jesus’ answer, He’s the Great Physician and He’s here for the sick. If you think you’re good enough without Christ in your life, He’s not here for you. He came for the sinners or more accurately those who know they are sinners.

We cannot truly accept the Lord until we realize we are sinners in need of a Savior. Matthew realized that even the wickedest people could be forgiven and turned to Jesus. The Pharisees and scribes thought they were good enough without Him. Jesus wants to rescue you, He’s just waiting for your call. Do you realize how much you need the Lord? Turn to Him today!

Heal me, Jesus!
