Romans 8:14-15
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:14-15
When we give our life to Jesus, we are adopted into the family. And this adoption comes with full rights. We have a seat at the table and an inheritance. We have the same rights and the same status.
One of these rights is the ability to call God our Father. Specifically “Abba, Father” what a young child might call his dad. We can approach the throne of grace without fear and call upon our father in heaven in a familiar intimate way. And He looks upon us as He would His own Son. How amazing is that? That the Creator of the universe is our Father.
Let us never think that God doesn’t care for us, or that our lives are trivial in His eyes. In Matthew 7:11, Jesus says “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
