Mark 1:16-17
And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”
Mark 1:16-17
Jesus didn’t force the men in the above verses to come and follow Him or become His disciples. He didn’t try to convince them. They knew Him and they saw who He was. And they came to their own conclusions about Him. So when Jesus called them to follow, they left everything behind to do so.
Jesus says those same words to us today: “Follow Me.” He has shown us how good He is, how much He loves us, and revealed Himself to us. But now He calls us to go deeper. To follow Him as far as He goes. To leave whatever we need to leave behind in the past and give up what is holding us back.
He won’t force you. And no one else will either. Just like with the disciples, we have to choose to answer the call to follow Him.
Following Him,
