Psalm 119:14-16

I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

Psalm 119:14-16

The Psalmist here values God’s Word above all riches. He finds his joy in it, he meditates and contemplates it. He gives his time and energy over to learning and absorbing it. 

We need to fall in love with God’s Word like the Psalmist does here. We must value it, study it, ponder it, and seek to understand how to apply it to our lives. Without that love, reading our Bibles becomes a chore and there will always be excuses and more pressing things to attend to. 

But if we find our joy in His Word, it will always be exciting and a blessing.
