Hebrews 2:18
For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
Hebrews 2:18
Jesus has experiential knowledge of our human state, even in temptation. He walks with us through our temptations. When we’re tempted, we might think we’re on our own, that God is nowhere near because of our thoughts. But this verse reminds us Jesus was tempted too and did not sin, so He is right there and steps into our own trials and temptations – not to condemn us, but to help us.
As the Son of God, He places His hand on deity, and as the Son of Man, He places His hand on humanity. He is the only one who can satisfy God’s claims and man’s needs. So let God have His sanctifying work in your life as we endure trials and temptations with the help of our faithful High Priest, the One who is superior to it all!
We’re in good company,
