Jeremiah 23:5
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.”
Jeremiah 23:5
Some 600 years before Jesus was born, there were already many prophecies about Him. The above verse tells us that from the line of David would eventually come one who rules and reigns, pouring out judgment and righteousness on the earth. Once Jesus comes in the New Testament, we see the fulfillment of this verse.
I read the whole Bible as an atheist, and what turned me to the Lord was the Word’s truthfulness. I couldn’t deny how accurate a 2,000-year-old book was about the issues of today, and I couldn’t deny its prophecies.
If you’re choosing not to believe the Bible, and so rejecting the Lord, you’ll have to explain away the hundreds of prophecies fulfilled just by Jesus Himself. No, the better explanation is the Bible is true, and Jesus really is our Savior.
