But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

Earlier in Mark 10, we are told that a rich young ruler asked Jesus what it takes to inherit eternal life. The young man was ready and willing to do whatever it took, but he wasn’t willing to let go of his earthly possessions. That’s when Jesus shared with His disciples that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. It all seemed impossible to His disciples, so Jesus shared: with God, all things are possible.

There are times in all of our lives when we face events, hurdles, or situations that seem insurmountable. Maybe it’s an illness or a financial issue. Maybe a wayward child. When we look at the situation and look around for a solution, we can sometimes get discouraged. But it is because we are looking around and not up!

When it seems like you are facing an impossible situation and you don’t see how it can possibly work out, read Mark 10:27, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” Look up, my brothers and sisters, for with God, all things ARE possible.
