“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!’”

Jesus’ words to His disciples here speak of perception, insight, and vision. On the one hand, a farmer can certainly tell how long it will be before his crops are ready to be harvested, based solely on his sight and experience. Yet Jesus tells us here that not all is as it seems.

To our natural eyes and experiences, the world hardly seemed excited about or open to hear the good news of Jesus’ sacrifice for them. Yet our Lord, who sees far better than we, far beyond the external to the heart, tells us the harvest field of souls is ready to be harvested now! Come on saints, let’s get out into the field and do his gathering (Matthew 9:37)(Luke 10:2)

Jesus said they are ready to hear!
