Matthew 13:57
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.”
Matthew 13:57
There was a time when we walked without Christ. We were in the world, of the world, and accepted by the world. And everything was just fine in the world’s eyes. But when Jesus found us and redeemed us, we no longer were able to walk and live by the world’s standards, we now live by God’s. This will always be a story of salvation worth telling anyone who will hear. And for the most part, your salvation story will carry great weight and will fall upon ears that are longing for hope of their own.
Unfortunately, our new life will often fall on deaf ears and will be under much scrutiny to those who knew us before we were saved. Jesus testifies that even in His own country, no one could believe that the Son of a carpenter could possibly be the Messiah. Maybe you can relate to the times you tried sharing your faith with those closest to you, only to be mocked and pushed aside. Indeed, those who knew us the best, in our former lives, will often be the last to believe in our conversion. But living for God requires us to be obedient and seek the approval of One. We only need to remain faithful and tell our story. God hears you always and He honors that.
God Bless,
