1 Samuel 17:32-37, Psalm 27:4-6
David’s confidence in facing Goliath wasn’t born from self-reliance but from remembering God’s past faithfulness. He recalled how God delivered him from lions and bears, and this fueled his faith for the present challenge. Similarly, we’re called to cultivate a memory of God’s goodness in our lives.
Take time today to recount specific instances where God has been faithful to you. Write them down if possible. Let these memories serve as ‘spiritual anchors’ when doubts arise. Notice how David’s deepest desire was to dwell in God’s presence and behold His beauty. In your own life, are you more focused on God’s gifts or on God Himself? Ask the Holy Spirit to deepen your longing for God’s presence above all else.
