Nehemiah 1:4

Nehemiah 1:4

So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

Nehemiah 1:4

Nehemiah upon hearing the dreadful conditions in Jerusalem, a place he had never been to, was moved to tears for his brethren suffering there and for the glory of His God. Through his tears he would discover God’s plans to send him to Jerusalem and begin the work of bringing security and protection to His people there. The lesson that moves me is that often we can find what God wants for us by what is breaking our hearts.

What touches you this deeply to move you to tearful prayers?  It is not the same for each of us. Some are moved to missions, others to prison ministry, others to church planting or reaching out to the elderly. Let God break your heart and then send you forth like Nehemiah, it is going to be glorious!

My heart breaks for the saints who need to know His Word much better
